Moving has been considered essential service. If you are moving in a high risk area, you may want to postpone your move. If you are in a high risk group, please cancel your move. You will want to call and confirm your moves with your moving company to see if they are still delivering in your area. Storage is available and we are practicing hygiene practices of social distancing and sanitation.
Safety with Moving Companies during COVID-19
Our Customer Service Advisors are conducting virtual surveys instead of in-home surveys to provide estimates. We are frequently sanitizing tucks and equipment’s. Movers are washing their hands frequently and there is no physical contact between movers and clients. Movers are wearing gloves and masks on the sites. Movers are not allowed to work if they have a temperature or are experiencing flu like symptoms. We are not holding team meetings as of now because of social distancing. Social distancing and Sanitization are very important for the moving teams.
Prepare for Your Move
You want to call your movers to confirm your reservation and the best practices for moving day. Please have soap and paper towels by a sink for the movers. You will want to leave the doors open for less chance of the movers touching your door knobs. When you go to the store for supplies do it all in one trip or curbside shopping. You will want to clean out your belongings of what you do not want. Clean items as you pack. When your boxes arrived at your new home leave them untouched for a day before unpacking. You do not want to use free or recycled boxes for chance of getting the virus. You do want to make travel arrangements with flights and hotels due to restricted guidelines now during the virus.
Disinfecting and Cleaning your New Home
When you arrive at your new home, leave the boxes for a day before unpacking. Disinfect the surfaces with Lysol Disinfecting Wipes or Clorox Multi Surface Cleaner. You can make your own solutions with diluted bleach solutions or alcohol. You can purchase gloves, masks, and hand sanitizer, soap and paper towels to clean your home. Doorknobs, light switches, touch screens, floors remote controls and toilets are need cleaning. Deep cleaning your home after you move in is the best way to prevent viruses. . With the social distancing, you will have more time to unpack and organize your new home. Decorating and remodeling your old or new home can be done with social distancing.
